Macro-photography, or close-up photography, helps us to appreciate the beauty of the fine details of the world around us. There is an array of tools available to photographers for that, including close-up filters, extension tube set, macro bellows system, and macro lenses.

The picture of the swallowtail butterfy wing was taken with a Pentax 100mm autofocus macro lens. An extension tube set with a 50mm lens was used for the flower close-up shot below. The magnification ratio was somewhere between 1:2 and 1:1 in both cases.
