A few years ago during a trip to my hometown Calcutta in India, one morning I was taking a stroll on the bank of Ganges. I found a group of kids bathing in the river and sometimes jumping into the water from a jetty about 3 ft above the water. That is when I met this two local boys. They were quite surprized that I was "wasting" my film shotting people whom I don't even know. One of them asked, "Would you take my picture if I jump into the water ?", "Yes, why not." I said. And so he did, from the narrow bridge that connects to the jetty. The roll in my camera was in its last frame, so I could not use autowinding. I just got one shot; and that is this. |
