Wildlife photography is one of the most challenging field of photography. You need a lot of expertise, patience, and luck to get good images. You also need good telephoto lenses (500mm or above), preferably with higher speed (larger aperture).

During a trip to the Simla (in the foothills of northern Himalayas), I spotted this group of monkeys near a temple. I used the longest focal length of my Tamron 28-300mm lens, which does not really have a very high optical quality, but a great lens if you want to travel light. I also used the in-built small flash of the camera as a fill-flash for the picture above.

These monkeys (Rhesus Macaque) are not too "wild". They live comfortably in the wilderness as well as in the localities. They are very common in the northern parts of India including Himalaya mountains.
