Well, not all of my pictures are 15 years old. Here are a couple that were shot last weekend, during a trip to the Olympic Peninsula in the Pacific Northwest. Olympic Peninsula is very beautiful at this time of the year. The weather keeps alternating between rain and sunshine, and we had the opportunity to see a great double rainbow. There are numerous small waterfalls by the road, and the mountains, all covered with deep snow, look simply beautiful. The picture above is a view we enjoyed in the late afternoon from our motel room in a small town called Sekiu. A prominent rainbow touching the horizon beyond the water, and a cormorant sitting quietly on a pole. This picture was taken with a 400mm lens. |

I found this group of alpine trees at the top of the Hurricane Ridge of the Olympic Mountains. The beauty of these snow-covered trees was enhanced by the dark could in the background. Notice the near monochrome nature of the scene. A color image does not necessarily have to be rich in color to have a strong visual impact.
