Portrait of a Sadhu (pious man), whom I met near a small temple in a rural area in Bengal, India.

To some, a Sadhu is one who gave up his wealth, home and family to become free of earthly bondages in search of the highest truth. To others, he is nothing but a homeless drifter without any aim of life. Whatever it be, I think that the sadhus are some of the most interesting personalities of India.

Camera : Pentax ZX-5n, lens : Pentax 28-200mm, film : Fujichrome Sensia 100.
