The number Three [3], for some reason, holds a very special place in our
thought processes.
It shows up again and again in many paths of thought including science and technology,
religion, as well as creative fields like arts.
Photography is no exception.
A photographic composition is considered stronger and seems to create a
higher impact when it contains three of something. Those objects can be of
same kind with slightly different sizes (often called
papa, mama and baby bear) like the image of the leaves in an iron pipe shown above,
or three identical objects with difference in positioning, orientation, or activity,
or, even three objects that are distinct in all respects. Three is the magic number.
Here are three of my "Three" images.
This picture of three sparrows sitting on the window grills of a train car was
shot from another train at a railway station. Both the trains were stationary, of course.
The last one, "Two's company, three's crowd"; was taken at the Alipore Zoo in Kolkata, India.
