Patterns : Man Made

We human beings, following the nature, create patterns and designs as well. Of course, it is beyond our ability to reach the complexity and diversity of nature, nor can we try to match its expanse ranging from the atoms to the galaxies. Yet we have been trying our best in our own limited capability since the beginning of civilization.

The purpose of creating patterns is sometimes aesthetic and sometimes for functional values. The picture above shows the centuries old limestone carvings of Ranakpur Jain Temple, India. The one below is an aerial view of a modern age residential development; one of many such that you will probably get to see when flying over urban localities.
