There are instances when the fine line between photography and graphic arts disappears. You may start it with a photographically generated image, but after significant manipulations the image may take a shape that is unattainable using pure photographic techniques only.

But, well, let's not get into that philosophical discussion of what can be called photograph and what can not. Here is an image for your view, that was generated by converting a plain picture of tulip fields into "polar coordinates". Later I added a yellow gerbera flower at the center.

The circular picture below was made in a similar way. I started with a photo of a bunch of flowers, converted it to shperical, and added a patch of the original picture at the center. This gives a similar effect (but not exactly same) of looking through a cylinder of reflective mylar sheet. Paint Shop Pro 8 image editing software was used for both the images.
